The Cherbourg Challenger has been a consistent presence on the circuit, having celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2023. The seventh-longest-running Challenger tournament, Cherbourg is the longest-running indoor event at that level, featuring past champions such as former World No. 4 Sebastien Grosjean and 2017 Nitto ATP Finals winner Grigor Dimitrov. In 2003, Rafael Nadal was a finalist in Cherbourg, just two years prior to winning his first Grand Slam title three hours east in Paris. Novak Djokovic reached the Cherbourg semi-finals in 2005. Grosjean, Ugo Humbert, Nicolas Mahut and Arnaud Clement are among the home favourites who have won the event.
