Portoroz Puts Slovenia In The Spotlight The scenic resort town of Portoroz has celebrated Challenger tennis since 2013, when home hope Grega Zemlja triumphed. Since then, two more Slovenians have lifted the trophy, with Blaz Kavcic following in 2014 and Aljaz Bedene in 2019. With sea views that rival its ATP Tour neighbor in Umag, Croatia, the Sports-Recreation Center Marina Portoroz is also nestled along the Adriatic. It is home to 13 clay courts as well as two indoor and five outdoor hard courts, including a multipurpose stadium that seats 1,600 fans.
