L'Aquila Makes Splash In Debut Edition Located in central Italy, the tournament in L'Aquila is one of the newest members of the Challenger family. Following an 11-year run in nearby Todi, the event moved to L'Aquila in 2018 and featured Facundo Bagnis as its champion. The capital city of the Abruzzo region, it sits on a hillside and is surrounded by tall snow-capped mountains.
