Croatians have enjoyed success in their capital city, beginning with Ivan Ljubicic's triumph at the inaugural event in 2006. He went on to runner-up efforts the following two years. Marin Cilic maintained Croatia's final streak as he won back-to-back titles in 2009-10, 2013-14 while Ivan Dodig lifted his first title in 2011.
